Their highly qualified and experienced instructors provide our air ambulance pilots with the necessary knowledge and expertise to keep our patients and flight crew safe during a medical transport.
All Aero Med Express pilots attend a FlightSafety training program either annually or semi-annually. The Learning Center where training takes place offers hands-on, practical training inside actual aircraft as well as advanced-technology flight simulators. FlightSafety also provides programs that are tailored to the specific aircraft being used, which allows our pilots to receive the most up-to-date training available.
In addition to our highly-trained pilots, Aero Med Express also ensures that all staff on board our aircraft have the capabilities to treat any potential medical issues that may arise. Every Aero Med Express in-flight staff member is trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and flight physiology. For each individual that we transport, the medical team onboard is selected based on the patient’s specific needs. This often includes certified respiratory therapists and registered nurses with experience in critical care.
